Year 4: EEM Advanced Practitioner Classes
EEMCP Year 4 FAQ
When is the application period for Year 4: Advanced Practitioner Classes?
The Year 4 application period opens to qualified students each summer, and is typically open for 1 month.
When do the Year 4: Advanced Practitioner Classes start?
The Grid class is held in the Fall and the Regression Class is held in the Spring.
Where are the classes held?
The 2019-20 Year 4-US classes are being held at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, CA. The 2020-21 Year 4-US class location is yet to be determined, but the 2020-21 Year 4-UK classes will be held at Wotton House in Dorking, England.
How many days are the classes?
In the US, the Grid Class takes place on Friday morning through Monday evening, while Regression takes place on Saturday evening through Wednesday at Noon. In 2020-21 when the classes are held in the UK as well, the Grid and Regression there will both take place on Friday morning through Monday evening.
How much will it cost?
The tuition for Year 4 is $2345 per class, or $4690 for the year. Each class payment is due upon registration for that class.
Does this include food and lodging?
No, food and lodging are separate, but Innersource's discounted hotel rates are available.
I have already submitted a Year 4 application in a previous year. Do I need to re-apply?
Yes. Only applications received during the current application period will be considered. We understand that this will be extra work for those of you who have already submitted applications and we apologize for any inconvenience.
If I am re-applying, is there any part of my previous application that can be utilized for this new application?
Unfortunately not. Given the expanded nature of the program and the fact that most of these applications are from years past, we need everyone to submit new applications and gather new Letters of Recommendation.
What are the prerequisites for applying for Year 4?
To apply for Year 4, you must be a graduate of EEMCP Years 1, 2, and 3, and you must also be an Active EEM Certified Practitioner by maintaining a current EEM Continued Training Certificate.
Are there any exceptions to these prerequisites?
Exceptions will be extremely rare. We feel it is important that all Year 4 Advanced Practitioners have had the same level of training.
Will the 100 sessions I submitted for Year 3 be applicable to my Year 4 application session requirements?
If you completed (or are completing) Year 3 within 18 months of the start of the upcoming Year 4 Grid class for which you apply, the 100 sessions from your Year 3 studies will qualify.
If you graduated from Year 3 more than 18 months before the start of the Grid class, you will need to include with your Year 4 application documentation of 100 EEM sessions from the 12 months prior to the Grid class.
What if I have an emergency and cannot attend one of the classes? Will I be able to attend the following year, or watch a video of the class instead, as is allowed in EEMCP Year 1 and 2?
Watching a video will not be accepted as a substitute for taking a class in Year 4. Students will be welcome to attend the next available Year 4 class as a make-up class.
Can I take either of the classes individually, rather than commit to the entire program?
Grid and Regression classes that were once taught independently are now only offered only within the context of the full Year 4 of the EEMCP. Performing a Grid session can take a client into a Regression, and doing a Regression session can take a client back to where a Grid was broken. We feel it is important and responsible to make sure that all who do this level of practice have both techniques at the ready.
Is Year 4 of the EEMCP something everyone should attend to complete their EEM education?
Year 4 is designed for those practitioners who are already working substantively and consistently with clients, and are experienced and sturdy enough to take their clients to the deeper levels of healing accessed with Grid and Regression.
Many of us study EEM simply to increase the health and wellbeing of ourselves and our loved ones, or to have a very minimal professional practice. These are very worthy goals, and no less lofty than those who study EEM as a full-time career.
Grid and Regression are the deepest tools we offer, and not everyone will want to take the time and effort necessary to become the practitioners they need to be to take on this work. Playing guitar around the campfire for everyone to enjoy is just as enriching and valuable as playing a concert at Carnegie Hall, sometimes more so. We invite you to think about the level of practice that suits your desire and lifestyle when considering applying to Year 4: the Advanced Practitioner Classes. And remember, significant, lasting healing can indeed take place without ever doing Grid or Regression work.
How many students will be in the class?
The Year 4 classes will be very small compared to EEMCP Year 2 and Year 3 classes. The maximum will be 32 students in a Year 4 class. The ratio of supervisor to student will be smaller as well. Your group will likely be no larger than 8 students per supervisor.
What will the format be of the Year 4 classes?
Both the Grid and Regression classes will be a combination of lecture, demonstration, and small group sessions. More than being a typical workshop, these classes will be actual forums for experiencing these techniques, from both a practitioner's and a client's point of view.
Do I need to have a Grid out to attend?
Some of you might already have all of your major grids repaired. In that event, your class partner will either do a minor grid or cloaccal session for you.
If you know you have a major grid out, we suggest you do not have it repaired prior to the class. Working with a major grid in the class will have benefits in terms of your overall learning experience and that of your class partner. So please consider the option of delaying further grid work if you are planning on applying for Year 4.
What happens between Year 4 classes? Are there supervision assignments similar to those in Year 2 and Year 3?
Yes. There will be a supervision period after you have completed your first class, which is the Grid class in the fall. In this period you will be mentored through your first Grid sessions. You will have a second supervision period after your Regression class in the spring. During this time you will finish your required six Grid sessions and complete your four Regression sessions.
The Year 4 supervision phase is lengthier and more in-depth than you have previously received for an EEMCP class. This is to allow you to confer with your supervisor about the clients you are preparing for their Grid and/or Regression sessions and debrief with them after each session. You receive a total of 12 hours of supervision time. All Year 4 work must be completed before you can be listed on the Innersource website as an Advanced Practitioner. You will have 12 months from the end of the Grid class to complete your required six Grid and four Regression sessions.
Can I choose my own supervisor or will one be assigned?
You will be assigned a faculty supervisor, similarly to Year 2 and Year 3.
Will I have the same supervisor for Grid and Regression?
No, you will have a different supervisor for each class. We find it advantageous to have students experience diverse teaching and mentoring styles. Thus, the faculty and mentors for Grid and Regression will not be the same for both classes of Year 4.
Is there a deadline to complete the six Grids and four Regressions?
Yes. You will have 12 months following the completion of your Grid class to complete your supervision requirements for both the Grid and Regression classes.
What if I can't finish the supervision by the deadline?
A one-time extension will be allowed, which will give you an extra six months to complete your session requirements. You will be required to pay for any additional hours of supervision necessary for this period. If, at the end of the six month extension, the supervision is still not complete, it will be necessary to attend Year 4 again.
What if I have completed the supervised sessions of one class and not the other?
If you have completed your required Grid sessions but not the Regression sessions, you need only repeat the Regression class.
