How Acupoint Tapping Changes Deep Emotional Leanings

The emergence of energy psychology has evoked fierce controversy within the mental health field. How can tapping on the skin, rolling the eyes, and humming a tune help overcome severe psychiatric problems? Yet the approach persists – as it has for nearly four decades. What do we know about what happens in the brain when we tap on our skin while having the client state a wide range of phrasings? And what does that have to do with emotional healing and well-being? This dynamic talk will address each of these questions.

What To Say While Tapping
Taught by: David Feinstein Ph.D.

When counselors who use acupoint tapping watch master practitioners, they often feel duly dazzled but correspondingly inadequate. The adept formulation of wordings is the next skill set to build once having mastered the basics, and it is the topic of this intermediate/advanced class. Participants will examine the functions of phrasings typically used in acupoint tapping sessions. They will also have an opportunity to dissect the language and choice points of videotaped demonstrations, practicing effective phrasing in pairs or triads. Ample time will be allowed for Q/As and discussion.

He has served on the faculties of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Antioch College. He is a recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award, the U.S.A.
